29/10/2018 MF UNZE: PROJECT CONSORTIUM MEETING AT MF

On the occasion of the completion of the largest part of the project activities of the project Development of an innovative process of education and networking in the field of wood processing in Central Bosnia, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Acting Prof. Ph.D. Fuad Hadžikadunić, organized a meeting of project team members with the MF UNZE, representatives of the ZEDA development agency and LIND laboratory. The head of the project Prof. Petković presented the realized activities that were more than successfully implemented, especially when it is known how late the project is and how difficult the administrative procedures and the slowness of the EU administration are when it comes to the speed of reactions to inquiries and approvals from the Ministry of Finance. He also emphasized what was not foreseen by the project and was done in the previous phases of the project (significantly greater internationalization, stronger work on the Triple Helix model, provision of new investors in machines and equipment, etc.). He suggested that the EU representatives be asked to extend the project by 3-6 months in order to comply with the administrative procedures regarding the procurement of equipment and other public procurements that are not in the domain of accelerated processes as often propagated by EU officials. The representatives of the financial monitoring of the project emphasized the importance of complying with the procedures, which are not at all simple and which significantly burden every EU project. It was summarized that of the planned studies on the project, the largest number have been completed and the rest are in the preparation phase, that the seminars are being held according to the planned dynamics, and that some have not yet been held because the equipment planned for the project has not yet been delivered, that all administrative and legal procedures for the establishment of a new department which was the main goal of the completed project, that the promotion of the new study in schools and companies takes place continuously, that the project resulted in a completely new position with employers when it comes to training engineers in the field of design and technology in wood processing. Dean Hadžikadunić particularly emphasized the importance of fulfilling all project goals, and the representatives of ZEDA-LIND, Mr. Pašalić and Kubat expressed their satisfaction with the work done so far on the project and with the cooperation with the representatives of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. There was also talk of a joint visit to the Forestry Faculty of the University of Belgrade and the Furniture Fair that will be held in Belgrade at that time, as well as the organization of a visit to the University of Rosenheim by the end of 2018.
