30.05.2018. CIP UNZE: PUBLIC DEBATE ON BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT IN TEŠNJ

The head of the Delegation of the European Union (EU) in BiH and the EU's special representative in BiH, Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, hosted the thirteenth public debate on local economic and sustainable development, which was held in Tešnje, as part of the project "The local community takes the initiative." Debates in Polish Ambassador to BiH Andrzej Krawczyk also attended Tešnja, who pointed out the importance of local communities in the process of European integration, while regional expert in the field of EU integration Danijel Mondekar, from Croatia, pointed out the importance of a strong connection between the business and public sector. In the public debate, very different topics were discussed: from the education sector and compliance with the needs of the labor market to the slowness in issuing permits for construction and development of business systems. In addition, an informative and educational fair was organized at which representatives of projects funded by the EU and other donors, which directly contribute to the economic and sustainable development of local communities, exhibited: ProLocal - Program for local self-government and economic development in BiH, funded by the EU and the German government, and implemented by GIZ. In front of the CIP UNZE, the public debate was attended by the director of the CIP UNZE, Prof. Dr. Darko Petković, who after the public debate had the opportunity to meet with Ambassador Wigemark and the representative of GIZ, Mr. Jachom discusses the potential for the development of a dual system of education in the higher education sector, which has not been practiced in BiH and the region until now, and represents one of the key educational activities of countries such as Austria, Switzerland, Germany and Denmark, which have the lowest unemployment rate in the EU. By the way, MF UNZE is on the way to developing the Design and Technologies in Wood Processing (DTD) study program, which is intended to be one of the first studies of its kind in the BiH academic sector in the future after the adoption of adequate legislation for dual education. In the afternoon Mr. Jach from GIZ and prof. Petković visited the Pobjeda factory in Tešnje.
