8/10/2016 CIP AND MF UNZE: ACTIVITIES ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF STUDIES OF TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN IN WOOD PROCESSING

In cooperation with the Swiss University of Bern - Department of Woodworking, very intensive activities continued to develop the three-year study of general mechanical engineering into a three-year professional study of Technology and Design in Woodworking / Technologies and Design in Metalworking. While the metalworking department is already solidly developed and through the study on the concept (4+1), woodworking remains only an area of study on paper. In this sense, a meeting was held with the Minister of Education ZDK Mr. Sinanović and his colleagues in the Ministry of Education, where the dean, Assoc. Dr. Hadžikadunić and the director of CIP UNZE, Prof. Petković presented the concept of dual education in Switzerland and the NPP proposal submitted by the University of Bern, as well as the current situation of the BH industry for wood processing (exports exceeding one billion KM) and the chronic lack of HSE personnel for design and technology in wood processing. In addition to all that, an accredited laboratory for wood products (LIND) was opened in TP Zenica as a joint project of the ZEDA Agency and the University of Zenica. In addition to emphasizing the importance of this study, Minister Sinanović emphasized the need to hold and discuss this topic with the principals of secondary schools in ZDK.

On the same day, the presentation of this project idea to businessmen from the wood processing sector was held in the ZDK Chamber of Commerce, with a unanimous support and reproach for having waited so long for UNZE to prepare the Elaborate for this study.
