INFORMATION FROM THE ELECTRONIC SESSION OF THE COLLEGE OF THE UNZA RECTORATE - 11.10.2020.

An informal group of students of the University of Zenica addressed the Rectorate of the University of Zenica with an initiative and a request for amendments to the Law on Higher Education of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, in the part that refers to the conditions for enrollment in the following years of study. On this occasion, the College of the Rectorate of the University of Zenica is on Sunday, October 11, 2020. held an electronic session, and conclusions were reached.

The Board of the Rectorate of the University of Zenica noted that since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic until today, the University of Zenica, with the full cooperation and support of the competent Ministry of Education of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and other competent institutions, has made a number of important decisions and undertaken various measures in with the aim of protecting students' health and organizing work in special conditions. All the mentioned activities were undertaken by the University of Zenica in accordance with its legal and statutory powers and authorities, which created satisfactory prerequisites for the teaching process in epidemic conditions.

When it comes to the requests of a group of students submitted to the management of the University of Zenica, which refer to the approval of enrollment in the following years of study for all students without any additional conditions, the Rector's College of the University of Zenica concluded that it is not possible to consider and accept them without amending the current of the Law on Higher Education of the Zenica-Doboj Canton. Starting from the experiences and already accepted solutions to this issue in other areas and at other universities in the FBiH, the Board of the Rectorate of the University of Zenica believes that the competent authorities of the executive and legislative authorities of the Zenica-Doboj Canton should, in the shortest possible time, consider the demands of the group of students and , eventually, initiate appropriate activities and procedures with the aim of solving these issues.

The Board of the Rectorate assigned the Rector of the University of Zenica, Prof. dr. sc. Damir Kukić to initiate the resolution of this student request as soon as possible through meetings with student representatives, as well as through the coordination of activities with the competent Ministry.
