Visit of representatives of the Embassy of Hungary, the University of Pécs and the County of Pécs
On Wednesday 22.02.2017. The University of Zenica was visited by representatives of the Embassy of Hungary, the University of Pécs and representatives of the County of Pécs.
The delegation consisted of Dr. Jožef Bodiš, Rector of the University of Pécs, Dr. Đula Zeller, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Relations, Dr. Tamaš Decsi, Director of the Clinical Center, Dr. Ištvan Silard, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Head of the Institute of Operative Medicine, Dr. Gabriela Medveđ, Vice-Dean of the Technical and the Faculty of Informatics, Dr. Eva Mikeš, representative of the Self-Government of the County Center of Pécs, director of the Urban Development Agency, Čaba Ruzsa, head of the strategy department of the University of Pécs, and Dr. Dominika Horvat, economic advisor at the Embassy of Hungary in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Rector, prof. Ph.D. Dževad Zečić, together with the representatives of the Founder, Mr. Miralem Galijašević, Prime Minister of Zenica-Doboj Canton and Mr. Mensur Sinanović, the Minister of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, and the Vice-Chancellors of the University hosted the respected members of the delegation at the Rectorate of the University of Zenica, and wished them a warm welcome and a pleasant visit to the University of Zenica and the City of Zenica.
During the meeting prof. Ph.D. Malik Čabaravdić, vice-rector for international cooperation and quality assurance of the University of Zenica, presented the basic historical, tourist and economic facts about the city of Zenica and the University of Zenica, and on that occasion he pointed out that the University of Zenica was officially founded in 2000, although history higher education more than 50 years old. He also informed those present about the organization of the University of Zenica, its members, the number of study programs and the number of students. After that, the vice-chancellor presented all organizational units of the University of Zenica individually.
The rector of the University of Pécs thanked for the extremely warm reception, and presented the origin, development and successes of the University of Pécs. He introduced the attendees to the centuries-old historical tradition of higher education in Hungary, and pointed out that the University of Pécs has ten faculties, between 18,000 and 20,000 students, extremely developed inter-university cooperation and a very large number of foreign students from 105 different countries of the world.
At the meeting, it was concluded that cooperation between these two universities will be initiated and realized in all segments, first of all by signing a memorandum of understanding and cooperation of a general nature, then by signing a protocol on cooperation between the organizational units of these two universities, by applying for joint teacher exchange projects and students, by including in the "Green City" project, by cooperation in the fields of energy and ecology, and especially significant cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pécs, as well as cooperation between the Cantonal Hospital of Zenica and the Clinical Center in Pécs.
After the meeting and press conference, the guests, accompanied by the management of the University of Zenica, visited the iDEAlab at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the premises of the Faculty of Law.
