A RECEPTION FOR MEDIA REPRESENTATIVES WAS HELD AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA

A traditional reception for media representatives was held at the University of Zenica today. Journalists were hosted by Prof. Dr.Sc. Jusuf Duraković, rector of the University and vice-rectors: Prof. Ph.D. Sabahudin Ekinović, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Prof. Ph.D. Ilhan Bušatlić, Vice Chancellor for Finance and Development and Prof. Ph.D. Malik Čabaravdić, vice-rector for international cooperation and quality assurance.

In his address, the rector, Prof. Dr.Sc. Jusuf Duraković thanked the media representatives for their cooperation and correct, objective reporting to the public about events at the University, and referred to the key activities that marked this year:

• The Law on Higher Education of the ZDK was adopted, with which the academic community is not satisfied because it is not in line with the Framework Law and the judgments of the Constitutional Court.
• The most important thing is that the ZDK Government approved the employment of 27 assistants at the University of Zenica. The Senate of the University of Zenica will make a decision on this at tomorrow's session, and then employment will follow. Therefore, 27 young people who were registered at the Employment Bureau in Zenica-Doboj Canton will be employed at the University of Zenica. We consider it the biggest success of this year.
• At the University of Zenica, we established a Center for Energy Efficiency, whose financial effects are already visible.
• We successfully solved the problem of conducting student internships for students of the Faculty of Medicine, so this year we promoted the first generation of medical doctors.
• We worked hard and managed to link the "Kemal Kapetanović" Institute with dedicated industry, and we expect good projects soon.
• We have chosen a supplier for the design service of the building of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Polytechnic, which will also house the Rector's office. The source of financing will probably be donations and funds decided by the ZDK Government, so we will soon start building the facility.
• We solved the long-standing problem of housing the deans of the Polytechnic Faculty.
• We have created a visibility study of heating the entire campus of the University of Zenica, and we will find the best solution in cooperation with the Founder.
• We have introduced new study programs, and we are especially proud to highlight the great interest in the new study program Physical Education and Sport at the Faculty of Philosophy.
• The award of the Rector's Conference/Rector's Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina is also a significant recognition this year.
• The University of Zenica chairs the Management Board of the UniAdrion association of universities, which has more than 50 members from the Ionian-Adriatic region.
• We organized a national competition in robotics for students up to 19 years of age, and the winning teams represented Bosnia and Herzegovina at the world competition held in November in Germany.
• With our support, the Union of Students was also organized.
• With our support, students go to international competitions in sports and knowledge, and students of the Faculty of Law go to world competitions where they win significant results.
• For the first time, the Faculty of Islamic Pedagogy became a full member of the University in academic matters, and the dean of the Faculty of Islamic Pedagogy is now the deputy chairman of the Senate.
• We continued cooperation with embassies.
• We have started the process of selecting bidders for the development of the best solution for the student information system and
• Last year, the Senate adopted the new Statute of the University of Zenica.

In the coming year, we expect the realization of the started activities and the initiation of new ones, of which we single out the initiation of the Psychology study program and the initiation of the reaccreditation procedure of the University of Zenica.
