Teachers and students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering presented the University of Zenica at Maker Faire Sarajevo
On June 3 and 4, the Maker Faire was held in Sarajevo (www.sarajevo.makerfaire.com), a real holiday for families, educators, children and youth because it gathers makers of various profiles: innovators, scientists, professors, students and pupils, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, artists, designers, engineers, craftsmen and hobbyists, but also science clubs, techno-parks , educational institutions, and all those with a curious and creative mind who have or want to acquire the skills to create something, but also to share their knowledge with others and get to know what others are doing. The fair was started in 2006 in San Francisco by Make: Magazine and since then they have spread around the world, taking place in different cities and countries. Last year, in 2022, the fair was organized for the first time in Sarajevo by the Fab Lab BiH Association.
In front of the University of Zenica, on the first day of the fair, teachers (R. Prof. Dr. Malik Čabaravdić and V. Prof. Dr. Josip Kačmarčik) and students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (Amer Sarajlić, Emir Velagić and Nedim Saltagić) went. At the fair, they presented various activities and projects of the IdeaLab Centers of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Medicine from previous years, as well as the state championship in robotics organized by the University under the auspices of the WRO organization (www.wro.ba). At the University stand, various parts, models, assemblies, souvenirs, toys, and even a robotic arm are displayed, which are the result of creativity and the professional and scientific work of students and teaching staff of the University of Zenica. This year's robotics championship presented a task for the youngest, elementary category (8-12 years old), as well as two LEGO robot solutions that won 1st and 2nd place. Additionally, r. prof. Ph.D. At the fair, within a series of selected and invited thematic presentations, Malik Čabaravdić briefly presented this year's WRO state championship in robotics held on May 19 in the Zenica Arena. The stand of the University of Zenica, with its very interesting and diverse content, attracted the attention and interest of a large number of visitors of all ages, especially the youngest ones, and thus stimulated their further interest in science and technology.
