Open day of the University of Zenica, 13 April 2017. years

On Thursday, April 13, 2017. In the building of the Faculty of Economics and Law of the University of Zenica, the University of Zenica Open Door event was held. On that occasion, the work of the University of Zenica, as well as the possibilities of studying at the eight faculties of the University of Zenica, were presented to the high school graduates of the Zenica-Doboj and Central Bosnia Cantons.

The Open Day event began with the ceremonial awarding of cups, diplomas and medals for the first three places won by teams participating in the basketball competition within the University Basketball League.

The University League is a traditional university competition that aims to encourage students to lead a healthy life and recreation, and for many years the competition has been coordinated by doc.dr.sc. Aleksa Stankovic.

Great support in the organization of this competition was provided by: Prof. Dr.Sc. Dževad Zečić, rector of the University of Zenica, then the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton headed by Minister Mensur Sinanović, then the University Sports Association of Students, the Union of Students of the University of Zenica and the leadership of the Zenica City Arena.

The following teams won the first three places in the university basketball competition:

1. place - Faculty of Economics, University of Zenica
2. place – Polytechnic Faculty of the University of Zenica

3rd place – Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica

Cups and diplomas for achieved placement were presented by Prof. Ph.D. Dževad Zečić, Rector of the University of Zenica, while the medals were presented by Assoc. Ph.D. Alaudin Brkić, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Ph.D. Sabahudin Jašarević, dean of the Polytechnic Faculty and Prof. Ph.D. Damir Kukić, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy.

Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Dževad Zečić, rector of the University of Zenica, greeted the graduating students and future students, expressing the hope that this visit will be a decisive moment in making their decision about where and which faculty they will enroll in. The Rector then briefed the attendees about the historical development of the University, as well as the legal and academic status of this higher education institution, emphasizing in particular that the University of Zenica is the first accredited public university in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After the address of Prof. Dr.Sc. Džvad Zečić, Mr. Željko Bodul, assistant minister for higher education and science, as well as prof. Ph.D.Sc. Enes Hašić, vice-rector for teaching and student affairs at the University of Zenica.

The deans of the faculties of the University of Zenica individually presented the work and achievements of their faculties, as well as the achievements and successes of students, and introduced the graduates to the study programs of the faculty. The director of the Student Center, as well as the president of the Student Union, addressed those present.

After a short introduction and getting basic information about the University of Zenica, the graduates visited the exhibition spaces of the organizational units of the University of Zenica, where they received more detailed information related to enrollment methods and study opportunities in conversation with the teachers, and visited the faculty premises.
