Symposium "From ancient times to today: the importance and place of the Turkish language in periodicals in the Balkans"

Organized by the Department of Turkish Language and Literature of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica, in the period from May 11 to 14, 2017, a symposium entitled "From ancient times to the present day: the importance and place of the Turkish language in periodicals in the Balkans" is being held.

The primary goal of the symposium is to present periodical publications in the Turkish language that are published in the Balkans from the period of Ottoman rule until today, that is, to analyze the purpose, goal and content of these publications, and to look at their place in everyday life and their influence on the state system. 46 scientists will present 38 scientific papers as part of the international symposium organized for the first time at the Department. The papers that will be presented at the symposium will analyze this topic in detail from a scientific point of view, and will draw attention to the continued importance of the Turkish language, which has lasted from ancient times to the present day.

The symposium was officially opened today, May 12, 2017. year with an appropriate address by Prof. Ph.D. Dževad Zečić, Rector of the University of Zenica, Prof. Ph.D. Damir Kukić, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica and Prof. Ph.D. Edina Solak, Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature. Those present were also addressed by Mr. Faruk Berak Akçeşme, director of the Center for Civilization in the Balkans and Mr. Muhamet Akif Yaman, director of TKC Yunus Emre in Sarajevo.
