10.05.2018. CIP AND MF UNZE: VISIT TO THE FACULTY OF FORESTRY IN BELGRADE ON THE RIPEUD PROJECT

As part of the work on the GIZ-RIPEUD project - Development of an innovative process of education and networking in the field of woodworking in Central Bosnia, as well as the development of the new study program Design and Technology in Woodworking (DTD) at the MF UNZE, the head of the project, Prof. Dr. Darko Petković and Mr. Mas. Almir Akvić from the Zenica wood processing company AL-EX stayed at the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Belgrade (www.sfb.bg.ac.rs), where they were hosted by the Vice-Dean Prof. Zdravko Popović. Prof. Popović presented one of the oldest higher education institutions in Serbia, which will celebrate 100 years of existence in 2020 with a special presentation of the study department of Technology, Management and Design of Furniture and Wood Products (TMP). Prof. Petković presented the state of the wood processing sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially in the Central Bosnia region with an emphasis on the business systems that UNZE gravitates towards and where it regularly organizes part of the teaching process or practice for its students. A special conversation was held with v.prof. Jelena Matić, designer from the Department of Final Wood Processing and head of the Center for Projecting and Design of Interiors and Furniture. This Center was founded in 2004 within the Department of Final Wood Processing. The need for the establishment of the Center arose as a result of the fact that, within the curriculum of the TMP Department, the Orientation for Furniture and Interior Design began to work, with a series of subjects from a narrow professional-artistic field, which were studied for the first time in this scope at the Faculty of Forestry . Prof. During her tour of the faculty, Matić presented the most important works of students created within the work of the Center and the TMP department. Full readiness for cooperation and assistance of the Ministry of Education and Culture of UNZE in the development of the new DTD study department was expressed. Prof. Petković also expressed interest in connecting the Department of Environmental Engineering and Protection of Land and Water Resources of SF UB with a similar department at MF UNZE.
