Information about the held Round Table: "(Re)accreditation of higher education institutions and study programs in BiH - challenges and opportunities"

It is 15.05.2018 in Sarajevo. in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, and in the organization of the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance (HEA), the Round Table "(Re)accreditation of higher education institutions and study programs in BiH - challenges and opportunities" was held. Representatives of all higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and competent ministries of education took part in the Round Table. In the opening remarks of the Director of the Agency, Prof. Ph.D. Enver Halilović, his deputies and Assistant Minister of Civil Affairs for Education Adnan Husić emphasized the importance and role of QA in VO, and that this area occupies a high place on the list of priorities, both in the European Union and in Bosnia and Herzegovina. That is why, due to current problems and delays in the accreditation/reaccreditation procedure of all institutions, all participants in the field of higher education in BiH face challenges related to the adoption of regulations in the Agency that enable the accreditation of institutions and study programs, as well as the implementation of reaccreditation procedures. After the introductory presentations dedicated to the problems observed in the accreditation procedures of 27 higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, information on upcoming activities in the process of accreditation of higher education institutions and study programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the obligations and activities of the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance that need to be implemented in in accordance with the recommendations of the ENQA commission after the external evaluation of the Agency, and after highly noted discussions, recommendations and answers to current questions by the majority of the participants' votes Conclusions were adopted at the round table.

In front of the University of Zenica, the work of the Round Table was attended by Vice Prof. Dr.Sc. Malik Čabaravdić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and QA, Assoc. Ph.D. Ibrahim Plančić, QA manager of the University and Prof. Ph.D. Dževad Zečić, who currently holds the position of President of the Agency's Board of Directors. The work of the round table and the conclusions reached are considered extremely significant at this time, since the University of Zenica is in the process of reaccreditation, and it is very important that the University, after a clearly defined project task, submitted a request for reaccreditation and carried out an internal evaluation of the University's condition (and study programs), based on clear procedures, can continue with planned project activities and preparations for this extremely important process.
