REPRESENTATIVES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA PARTICIPATED IN THE FIRST WORKSHOP ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF TURKOLOGY

On Thursday, April 11, 2019, the First Workshop on the Development of Turkology was held in the premises of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Sarajevo. The rector of the University of Zenica, prof. Ph.D. Damir Kukić, dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, prof. Ph.D. Memnuna Hasanica, Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature van. prof. Ph.D. Edina Solak, assistant professor Mirza Bašić, proofreader Assoc. Ph.D. Yasemin Uzun and assistant professor Zeynep Türksever, as well as rectors, deans, heads of Turkology departments and teachers and associates engaged in the Turkology departments of the University of Sarajevo, the University of Tuzla, the University "Džemal Bijedić" in Mostar and the International University in Sarajevo.

The workshop started with an introductory presentation by the educational attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Vasio Ete. After that, the rector of the University of Zenica, prof. Ph.D. Damir Kukić, who especially emphasized that the Department of Turkish Language and Literature occupies a very important place at the University of Zenica, but also in the socio-cultural reality of the Zenica-Doboj canton. In his presentation, Mr. Kukić referred to the fact that students show great interest in the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, primarily because Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey are connected by strong and unbreakable cultural and historical ties.

Prof. Ph.D. Damir Kukić presented a modest gift to the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Haldun Koç, as a sign of gratitude for the selfless support that the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey provides to the University of Zenica.
