17.04.2019. MF AND CIP UNZE: VISIT TO HE PIVA-MRATINJE AND PODGORICA PLANTATION
The third-year students of the MAINTENANCE department together with the staff of the Department of Maintenance of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering UNZE visited the Piva-Mratinje Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Podgorica Plantation Plant and the Šipčanik Cellar on the first day of their study visit to Montenegro. First, there was a visit to HPP Piva, which is one of the dams with the highest dam crown of 227 m in Europe. Students and professors first toured the exterior of the impressive HPP building, followed by a visit to the mechanical and electrical hall and the control center. The lucky circumstance was that the capital overhaul of the three turbine blocks with a total of 360 MW was in progress, which made it possible to see the complete picture of the complexity of the assembly of these aggregates as well as the entire system of HPP Piva, which started operating back in 1976. With detailed explanations from the manager of the exploitation sector, ing. Željko Avramović and his associates, guests from the MF UNZE, did not hide their delight at what they saw. The continuation of the study visit led further to the Plantation Complex in Podgorica and their processing plants and distillery. Accompanied by people from the production and maintenance sector and organized by Ph.D. Vesna Maraš, head of technology, was given a detailed overview of the production processes and an insight into the machine park and the most important maintenance technologies that are applied at the Plantaže plant. The road continued to the huge vineyards in Ćemovsko polje, where the largest vine, olive and peach plantations are located on more than 2,300 ha, and then a visit to the former Šipčanik underground military airport, which today represents an innovative solution of one of the most beautiful European wine cellars. The working day ended in the evening with a visit to the National Park on Lake Skadar.
