A DELEGATION FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF SPLIT VISITED THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA

On Sunday, September 25, the University of Zenica was visited by a delegation from the University of Split led by prof. Ph.D. sc. Šimun Anđelinović, rector of the University, accompanied by vice-rector prof. Ph.D. sc. Boris Maleš and prof. Ph.D. sc. Branko Matulić, and prof. Ph.D. sc. Boris Trogrlić, dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy, prof. Ph.D. sc. Nikola Račić, dean of the Maritime Faculty, dr. sc. Sven Gotovac, dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Shipbuilding and prof. Ph.D. sc. Bernardin Peroš, former dean and now professor at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy.

At the meeting with representatives of the management of the University of Zenica, led by prof. Ph.D. sc. Dževad Zečić, rector of the University, discussed the possibilities of cooperation between the two higher education institutions, especially in the field of joint participation in Erasmus+ programs, applications to the EU pre-accession assistance program IPA II, and the exchange of students and teaching staff, which is particularly feasible due to the geographical proximity and the absence of a language barrier. It was emphasized that these two institutions, among other things, can cooperate in the organization of summer schools, in the field of cultural studies, and especially in technical fields such as construction, materials, numerical simulation, corrosion protection, etc. Also, the University of Split, thanks to its own experiences, can help the University of Zenica with the accreditation of its study programs.

By the way, the University of Zenica and the University of Split are already implementing joint projects, so two students of the Polytechnic Faculty of Zenica, on the Civil Engineering study program, within Erasmus Mundus of the project Green Tech, to spend the next year at the Split higher education institution.

In any case, as it was concluded at this meeting, the existing cooperation needs to be expanded, and in this sense a return visit was agreed upon, where new projects will be discussed.
