Invitation to award CEEPUS scholarships for the academic year 2025/2026.
Within the framework of the Central European Exchange Programme for University Studies - CEEPUS IV, a Call for Applications is open for individuals (administrative staff, students, doctoral candidates and teaching staff) who wish to carry out their mobility within one of the university CEEPUS IV networks during the next academic year.
Students can apply for short-term mobility of up to 3 months (Short Term Student and Short Term Excursion) or long-term/semester (Student) mobility, and doctoral candidates are eligible for mobility of up to one academic year. Teaching staff must fulfill a minimum of 6 working hours, or one working week, during the mobility period.
Deadline for online applications for the winter semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. year is June 15, 2025, and the deadline for the summer semester is October 30, 2025, with a note that it is technically possible to submit applications after the stated deadlines, with prior consultation with local and state coordinators.
The complete process of applying, evaluating and awarding scholarships is done exclusively through the online portal: ceepus.info, and after registering and creating a Mobility profile, it is necessary to fill out and submit an online application, and obtain approval from the local coordinator at the home institution, and then from the state CEEPUS coordinator (NCO BiH), who sends the application to the host country for final evaluation. Scholarships are ultimately awarded by the state coordinator of the host country, and after obtaining approval from the local coordinator at the host institution.
Information about the 99 networks, within which BiH applicants can apply for the next academic year, is available at the link: https://www.ceepus.info/content/find.
Some partner countries offer the option of applying under the Freemover category for the winter semester, while all countries offer a certain number of scholarships for the summer semester within this category. The Freemover category was created to offer the possibility of applying to individuals (students, doctoral candidates and teaching staff) whose faculty/department is not included in any of the active CEEPUS networks, but belongs to one of the partner universities (in Bosnia and Herzegovina these are all public universities).
Applications for Freemovers are possible from June 1 to November 30, 2025.
The requirement for applying for a Freemover scholarship is to have two documents, which must be attached to the online application before submitting it, and the templates of the required documents can be downloaded from the CEEPUS portal, or from the individual's Mobility profile (only for applications for Austria, the documentation is attached after the NCO of Austria requests it):
- Two letters of recommendation (Letter of Recommendation) completed and certified by the home higher education institution, briefly explaining the reasons for the recommendation for studying abroad in order to ensure recognition;
- Letter of Acceptance (Letter of Acceptance or Letter of Acceptance Teacher) issued and certified by the host higher education institution. The first part of the document is signed by the responsible person of the institution granting the tuition fee exemption, and the second part is signed by the person who will act as a supervisor during the mobility/study period.
