COMPETITION
FOR THE ENROLLMENT OF STUDENTS IN THE FIRST YEAR AND (FIRST) CYCLE OF STUDIES AT
THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA IN THE 2020/2021 ACADEMIC YEAR
(FIRST REGISTRATION DEADLINE)

 

The competition for the enrollment of students in the first year of the I (first) cycle of studies at the University of Zenica in the academic year 2020/2021 (First enrollment period) lasts from June 15 to June 26, 2020.

Candidate ranking and entrance exams at the faculties of the University of Zenica will be held from June 29 to July 5, 2020.

The faculties of the University of Zenica will provide complete information on their bulletin boards and the faculty's website about the place and time of submitting documents, as well as taking entrance exams for the study programs of the faculties of the University of Zenica where entrance exams are scheduled.

Enrollment of admitted students to the faculties of the University of Zenica will take place from July 13 to July 17, 2020, in accordance with the Student Enrollment Plan for the first year of the 1st (first) cycle of studies at the University of Zenica in the academic year 2020/2021.

NOTE: Admitted students who do not enroll within the previously established deadline will be considered to have abandoned enrollment in the study program of the University of Zenica faculty to which they applied.

Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, foreign citizens and stateless persons who have completed a four-year high school in Bosnia and Herzegovina have the right to participate in the Competition, as well as candidates who have completed high school outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and for whom, after the recognition or nostrification procedure, determined that they have completed the appropriate education for continuing education.

Exceptionally, candidates who graduated from secondary school outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina have the right to participate in the Contest even before the process of recognition or certification of the certificate of completed secondary education abroad, with the attachment of appropriate proof of initiation of the aforementioned procedures. The aforementioned candidates can enroll after the completion of the recognition procedure, i.e. the certification of completed education abroad, no later than the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year.

The admission and enrollment of students in the first year of studies is carried out by special commissions appointed by the deans of the University of Zenica.

The selection of candidates will be made on the basis of the Decision on criteria and criteria for determining the order of admission of candidates for the first year of the first cycle of studies at the University of Zenica, which forms an integral part of this Competition, as well as the individual criteria of the University of Zenica faculty for evaluation of grades from subjects relevant to the respective study and evaluation of the results of the entrance exams at the faculties of the University of Zenica where the entrance exam is scheduled.

The ranking list and the list of admitted candidates will be published by the faculties on the notice board and on the faculty's website, after they have been verified by the competent authorities, for faculties where the entrance exam is scheduled to take place no later than five days after the last day of the entrance exam, and for other faculties no later than five days from the closing date of the Contest.

Candidates who apply for the Competition for enrollment in the first year of the I (first) cycle of studies attach the following documents:

  • a) application for enrollment in which the study program/department to which he/she is applying is correctly indicated,
  • b) certificates of completed high school grades completed in BiH for a four-year period, i.e. appropriate documents on the implementation of the recognition or nostrification procedure for candidates who completed high school outside of BiH,
  • c) high school diploma,
  • d) birth certificate,
  • e) citizenship certificate,
  • f) other documents relevant for determining the number of points according to the criteria.

Candidates must submit the documents listed under points b), c), d), e) and f) in the original or a certified photocopy (with a certification no older than 6 (six) months from the date of publication of the Competition).

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the rights based on the Law on Supplementary Rights of Veterans and Members of Their Families (Official Gazette of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, number: 1/14) attach the following documents in addition to the previously mentioned documents:

  • certified household list,
  • income certificates of household members,
  • certified copy of identity card,
  • confirmation of the status of members of the defense population and their family members.

Winner of a war award or decoration, war invalid, demobilized defender, child of a martyr, killed, deceased, missing defender, child of a war award or decoration winner, child of a war invalid and child of a demobilized defender in the status of a full-time student, has the right to priority under equal conditions at admission to the faculties of the University of Zenica, and in accordance with Article 20 of the Law on Supplementary Rights of Veterans and Their Family Members ("Official Gazette of the Zenica-Doboj Canton", No. 1/14 and the Decree on Priority in the Education of Veterans and Their Family Members ("Official Gazette newspaper of the Zenica-Doboj Canton», number 4/14 and 1/18).

Enrollment of candidates from the category of children: martyrs, martyrs, deceased, missing defenders; deceased, deceased, missing winner of a war award or decoration; deceased war invalids and deceased demobilized defenders, who apply for regular studies (financed by the Founder) and pass the entrance exam, but do not enter the quota stipulated in the Enrollment Plan, as well as candidates who do not achieve the required number of points according to the general and special criteria at the faculties of for which the entrance exam is not foreseen, will be resolved by a special conclusion of the Cantonal Government on giving consent to the increase of a certain number of students for enrollment.

Members of the Roma nationality have the right to unconditional enrollment in the status of regular students financed by the Founder, beyond the quota stipulated in the Enrollment Plan.

Candidates for enrollment in the first year of the 1st (first) cycle of studies at the faculties of the University of Zenica in the academic year 2020/2021 prove their status as a member of the Roma population by attaching one of the following documents from which membership of the Roma population is visible: school certificate, birth certificate , an extract from the marriage register, an extract from the voter list or some other document that contains information about belonging to the Roma population.

Persons with disabilities through 70% have the right to unconditional enrollment in the status of regular students financed by the Founder, beyond the quota stipulated in the Enrollment Plan.

Applicants for enrollment in the first year of the 1st (first) cycle of studies at the faculties of the University of Zenica in the 2020/2021 academic year shall prove their status as a person with a disability via 70% by attaching a document from the competent medical institution.

Classes for a specific study program are not conducted if less than 20% students are enrolled in the study program from the number provided by the enrollment quota from the Student Enrollment Plan in the first year of the first cycle of studies at the University of Zenica in the academic year 2020/2021.

Applications submitted after the established deadline, as well as incomplete applications, will not be considered.

For all faculties that do not receive the planned number of candidates in this enrollment period, the Competition (SECOND REGISTRATION DEADLINE) will be announced on August 31, 2020, and documents will be received from August 31 to September 18, 2020.

Candidates for enrollment in the first year of the II (second) cycle of studies at the University of Zenica submit the documents required by the Competition:

DECISION ON CRITERIA AND MEASUREMENTS
TO DETERMINE THE ORDER OF ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES
FOR ENROLLMENT IN THE FIRST YEAR AND (FIRST) CYCLE OF STUDIES AT
UNIVERSITY IN ZENIKA

 

Article 1.

This Decision establishes common criteria and standards for scoring and enrolling candidates in the first year of the first (first) cycle of studies at the University of Zenica.

Article 2.

Ranking of candidates and admission of students to the first year of the 1st (first) cycle of studies will be done depending on the number of points the candidate earns:

  • 1. At the faculties where the entrance exam is scheduled, based on:
    • general success,
    • success in certain subjects important for the respective study,
    • the results achieved in the entrance exam,
    • results achieved at competitions in subjects relevant to a particular study, i
    • recognition of the "Student of the generation", under equal conditions in relation to other candidates.
  • 2. At faculties where there is no provision for taking an entrance exam on the basis of:
    • general success,
    • success in certain subjects important for the respective study,
    • results achieved at competitions in subjects relevant to a specific study, i
    • recognition of the "Student of the generation", under equal conditions in relation to other candidates.

 

Article 3.

The number of points based on general success is a maximum of 40, and is determined by multiplying the average grade from all subjects in all grades by 8, rounded to one decimal place.

 

Article 4.

The number of points based on success in individual subjects important for the respective study is a maximum of 20, and is determined by multiplying the average grade in subjects important for the respective study by department by 4.

 

Article 5.

The evaluation of the results based on the success achieved in the entrance exam, as well as the list of subjects important for the respective study from which the entrance exam is taken by department and the method of scoring on this basis, the faculties will highlight on their notice boards, with the maximum number of points that the candidate can achieve on this base is 40.

 

Article 6.

For one of the places won at the cantonal competition for high school students, the following number of points is awarded:

  • a) for winning first place……….3 points
  • b) for winning second place……..2 points i
  • c) for winning the third place……….1 point

 

For one of the places won in the competition of high school students at the level/level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the following number of points is awarded:

  • d) for winning first place………4 points
  • e) for winning second place…….3 points i
  • f) for winning the third place………2 points

 

For one of the places won in the international competition for high school students, the following number of points is awarded:

  • g) for winning the first place………5 points
  • h) for winning second place…….4 points i
  • i) for winning the third place………3 points.

 

The total number of points that the candidate receives based on the competition from this article cannot exceed 10, and it is formed based on the sum of points for all results, with the fact that only competitions that are officially organized at the level of the Canton, the Federation of BiH and BiH and from the subjects of mathematics, physics, foreign language, informatics. For technical faculties, in addition to the above, the results of the competition called "Technical Creativity Review" organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of ZE-DO Canton are also scored.

 

Article 7.

A candidate who holds the "Student of the Generation" award, under equal conditions, has priority when enrolling in one of the study programs of the University of Zenica faculty over other candidates who achieve the same number of points during the ranking established in Article 2, point 1 or 2. of this Decision.

 

Article 8.

Candidates who achieve at least 50% points in the appropriate entrance exam can enroll in the faculties of the University of Zenica.

 

Article 9

The procedure for implementing this Decision is carried out by a committee appointed by the dean of the faculty.

At the faculties where the entrance exam is taken, the commission is obliged to ensure the secrecy of the exam material and other relevant documentation.

After adding up the points for each candidate individually according to all the bases from this Decision, the commission compiles a ranking list of all candidates and a list of accepted candidates and announces it on the notice board after it has been adopted by the competent authority, and within the deadline set in the Competition/Competition.

Candidates can submit a written objection to the published ranking list to the scientific and teaching council of the faculty within three days from the date of publication of the list.

The scientific and teaching council of the faculty is obliged to decide on the objection within three days and inform the candidate accordingly.

The decision of the Scientific and Teaching Council is final.

 

Article 10.

Faculties that do not receive the planned number of candidates in the first competition period will hold a second competition period in September of the current year.

 

Article 11.

Candidates who, in accordance with this Contest/Competition, are admitted to the faculties for enrollment in the first year of studies, in addition to the submitted documents, submit:

 

  • enrollment, semester sheet and CV form,
  • registration form-index,
  • data on the state of health - medical certificate.

 

In the academic year 2020/2021. students participate in the study costs in accordance with the Decision on the enrollment of students in the first year of undergraduate studies at the faculties of the University of Zenica, as well as the study participation costs for the other years of study.

 

Article 12.

Details about the place and time of submission of documents for enrollment, as well as other relevant information, will be published on the notice boards of the faculty.
