FOR ENROLLMENT OF STUDENTS IN THE FIRST YEAR OF THE III (THIRD) CYCLE OF THE DOCTORAL STUDY IN TECHNICAL SCIENCES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA IN ACADEMIC 2023/2024. YEARS
Contest/Competition for the 1st enrollment period for the enrollment of students in the first year of the 3rd (third) cycle of the doctoral studies in technical sciences at the University of Zenica in the academic year 2023/2024. year lasts until February 15, 2024. years. Enrollment of students who will be admitted to the doctoral studies in technical sciences at the University of Zenica will be done when a minimum of five (5) candidates have been registered. Classes are scheduled to begin in the summer semester of the academic year 2023/24. year, i.e. from 26.02.2024. years.
In the first year in the academic year 2023/2024. in 2023, candidates are enrolled in accordance with the Student Enrollment Plan in the first year of the III (third) cycle of the doctoral studies in technical sciences at the University of Zenica in the academic year 2023/24. year:

Study of the III (third) cycle at the Joint Doctoral Study in Technical Sciences of the University of Zenica with modules: Metallurgical engineering, Materials engineering (metallic and non-metallic materials), Chemical engineering, Design and product development, Metrology and automation, Renewable energy sources, Maintenance, Production technologies and systems, Civil engineering and Software Engineering is organized for three years (6 semesters) according to the Bologna system 4+1+3.
The following have the right to participate in the Contest/Competition:
- Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, foreign citizens and stateless persons who have completed the II (second) cycle of studies (300 ECTS points) or the equivalent (academic master's degree) from the scientific areas of the included study programs according to the Rulebook on the Equivalence of Previously Acquired Academic Titles of Scientific or Professional Titles and equivalence of previously passed exams for the purposes of continuing education at the University of Zenica.
- Candidates who have completed the previous level of education abroad, with a previously completed procedure for the certification of the acquired diploma, i.e. the procedure for the recognition of the education acquired abroad, in accordance with the law.
The admission and enrollment of students in the first year of studies is carried out by a special Commission appointed by the Council of Studies.
Enrollment conditions:
Candidates who have completed the second cycle of studies (300 ECTS credits) in the scientific field of doctoral studies have the right to enroll in doctoral studies. Candidates with a completed master's degree in related fields of technical sciences and the scientific field of natural sciences can also enroll in doctoral studies. With regard to acquired competences, the Council of Doctoral Studies can prescribe the obligation to enroll and take the appropriate number of relevant subjects for doctoral study from the master's study of the chosen field. Acquired competences are determined from the supplement to the diploma, that is, from the curriculum of the completed master's study.

– Materials engineering (metallic and non-metallic materials)

- Product design and development
– Metrology and automation
- Renewable sources of energy
– Maintenance
– Production technologies and systems
– Construction
– Software engineering
Candidates for admission to the "Software Engineering" module are required to pass an entrance exam before a committee appointed by the Council of Doctoral Studies. The entrance exam will check the inclination towards scientific and research work and previously acquired competences for attending doctoral studies - competences defined by the curriculum of the first and second cycles of the software engineering study program. Candidates who do not pass the entrance exam cannot enroll in doctoral studies.
Candidates for admission, who obtained the title of Master of Science in the relevant scientific areas/fields before the introduction of the Bologna system of three-cycle study in areas relevant to the area from which the doctoral study is organized, can be recognized with the appropriate number of ECTS credits in accordance with the study program, which is established by the Council of Doctoral Studies on the basis of an addendum to the diploma or an insight into the curriculum and program of the completed study. Candidates can be granted a maximum of 60 (sixty) ECTS credits and the right to enroll in the second year of doctoral studies.
Candidates who completed their previous level of education abroad have the right to participate in the competition, provided they provide proof of the recognition of the foreign qualification.
Foreign citizens apply for the competition under the conditions stipulated in the Statute of the University of Zenica, the Rules for organizing undergraduate, master's and doctoral studies at the University of Zenica and other regulations valid in the field of higher education.
Exceptionally, candidates who completed their studies outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina have the right to participate in the Competition even before the nostrification/equivalence of the diploma of completed studies abroad, but they can enroll in the first year after the nostrification/equivalence of completed education abroad.
Candidates must submit the following documents (in original or certified photocopy) when applying for the Contest/Competition for enrollment in the first year of the III (third) cycle of joint doctoral studies in technical sciences:
- biography,
- a diploma and a supplement to the diploma of the II cycle of study (for students who completed their studies according to the Bologna study system), i.e. a diploma and a certificate of passing the master's study exams (for students who completed their studies according to the pre-Bologna study system),
- the decision on diploma certification for candidates who obtained previous education outside Bosnia and Herzegovina,
- certificate or certificate of knowledge of a foreign language,
- birth certificate,
- Certificate of Citizenship,
- statement of acceptance of the obligation to pay the costs of the third cycle of study (doctoral study).
The deadline for application to the Competition is: 15.02.2024. years.
