COMPETITION
for the election and appointment of a member of the Board of Directors
from among the academic staff (1 member) of the University of Zenica

 

I

The Competition for the selection and appointment of a member of the Board of Directors from among the academic staff of the University of Zenica - 1 (one) member is announced.

The election and appointment of a member of the Board of Directors is carried out for a term of four years.

The scope of work of the Governing Board of the University of Zenica is determined by the provisions of Article 51 of the Law on Higher Education (Official Gazette of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, number: 6/09 and 9/13, 13/13, 4/15, 5/18, 4/19 , 19/20 and 15/21), Article 19, paragraph 2 of the Law on JU University of Zenica - Refined text ("Official Gazette of the Zenica-Doboj Canton", number: 1/18, 10/18 and 13/21) and Article 57, paragraph (1) of the Statute of the University of Zenica (Refined text), namely:

  •  a) adopts the Statute of the University, and adopts a general act on the internal organization and systematization of workplaces, as well as other general acts in accordance with the law;
  •  b) makes a decision on the establishment of other legal entities, in accordance with the law and the Statute, with the prior consent of the Founder;
  •  c) determines financing and development plans;
  •  d) adopts the University's annual work program at the proposal of the University Senate;
  •  e) adopts a financial plan;
  •  f) directs, controls and evaluates the work of the rector in the field of financial operations;
  •  g) solves issues of relations with the Founder;
  •  h) decides on the use of funds for work in accordance with the Statute;
  •  i) is responsible to the Founder for the results of the University's work;
  •  j) decides on the employee's objection to the decisions of the University authorities who, in the first instance, decided on the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the employee from the employment relationship;
  •  k) submits a report on the University's business to the Founder at least once a year;
  •  l) makes the final decision on the election and dismissal of the director of the Student Center;
  •  m) gives consent in accordance with paragraph 5 of Article 12 of the Statute;
  •  n) determines the price proposal for the services of the Institute as an organizational unit of the University;
  •  o) makes a decision on announcing a competition for the admission of students to the Student Center of the University;
  •  p) determines the price proposal for food and accommodation of students in the Student Center of the University;
  •  r) performs other tasks in accordance with the law, the founding act and the Statute.

 

II

A candidate who meets the general and special conditions can be elected as a member of the Board of Directors from among the academic staff of the University of Zenica.

The general conditions are:

  1. that he is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina,
  2. that he is older than 18 years,
  3. that there are no court proceedings against him for a criminal offense and an economic offense incompatible with the position of a member of the Board of Directors,
  4. that he has not been convicted of a criminal offense and an economic offense incompatible with the position of a member of the Board of Directors.

Special conditions are:

  1. that the teacher was selected for one of the scientific-teaching or artistic-teaching professions,
  2. that he is employed at the University of Zenica,
  3. to have the ability to conscientiously and responsibly perform the position of a member of the Board of Directors, communication and organizational skills, the ability to make impartial decisions, the results of work and engaging in scientific research (published works, participation in the organization and work of scientific conferences, seminars, etc.),
  4. knowledge of legal and by-law regulations on the work and functioning of the University of Zenica, organizational structure of the University of Zenica, budget operations through the Treasury, and knowledge of the financing of budget users of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, that is, the University of Zenica.

The rector, vice-rector, head of the organizational unit of the University and members of the Senate cannot be members of the Board of Directors.

 

III

With signed application candidates for a member of the Board of Directors from among the academic staff of the University of Zenica are required to submit evidence of meeting the required general conditions:

  1. Brief biography, address, contact phone number, e-mail,
  2. Certificate of citizenship, in accordance with point II subpoint 1. (general conditions),
  3. Birth certificate, in accordance with point II subpoint 2. (general conditions),

Candidates for a member of the Board of Directors from among the academic staff of the University of Zenica are required to submit evidence of meeting special requirements:

  1. The decision on selection into a scientific-teaching or artistic-teaching profession, in accordance with point II sub-point 1. (special conditions),
  2. Confirmation/certificate of employment, in accordance with point II subpoint 2. (special conditions),
  3. Evidence of the ability to perform duties as a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Zenica, in accordance with point II subsection 3. (special conditions), such as published papers, participation in the organization and work of scientific conferences, seminars, and the like.

 

IV

Documents on the fulfillment of general and special conditions from point III must be original or certified copies no older than 3 (three) months from the date of publication of the Competition.

Candidates who meet the conditions required by the competition will be invited to an interview by the Competition Committee for the selection of members of the Board of Directors from among the academic staff of the University of Zenica (hereinafter: the Competition Committee), appointed by the Senate of the University of Zenica.

A candidate from among the academic staff who holds one of the functions from point II of this Competition, by being elected and appointed to the position of a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Zenica, is obliged to initiate the procedure of dismissal from the aforementioned positions, i.e. membership in the academic bodies of the University of Zenica, within 15 days from on the date of appointment as a member of the Board of Directors of the University of Zenica.

 

V

A candidate from among the academic staff who is elected by the decision of the Senate of the University of Zenica is obliged to submit to the Competition Committee, within 7 (seven) days from the date of the Senate session of the University of Zenica, certificates/certificates from the competent courts, in accordance with point II subpoint 3 of the general of the conditions of the Competition, as well as the confirmation/verification of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in accordance with point II sub-point 4 of the general conditions of the Competition.

Candidates submit the above-mentioned certificates/verifications, not older than 3 (three) months from the date of issue by the competent authorities, in the original or a certified copy.

 

VI

Applications, with all necessary documentation, must be submitted within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of publication of the Contest in the daily newspaper.

Applications for the Competition with the necessary attachments are submitted in a sealed envelope by registered mail or to the protocol of the Rectorate of the University of Zenica, to the address:

Incomplete and late applications will not be considered.

The competition was published in the daily Večernji list BIH on June 17, 2022
