Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica hosts training for the VIS MOOT competition

The Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica is hosting training for the Vis Moot world competition in commercial arbitration, which will be held in Vienna again this year. The training takes place from February 6 to 11, 2023. For the fifth time, the Faculty of Law is hosting competitors and arbitrators from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and Germany, who are preparing for the most prestigious world competition in this field with lectures and practical exercises. The continuous work of professors and associates at the Faculty of Law resulted in the historic success of the Faculty of Law team in 2019, when our students won third place in the world, as well as placements in the top 32 and top 64 best universities for several years in a row.

Elinam De Souza is originally from Ghana and is a doctoral student at the University of Saarland, and is currently the senior moot coach of the team from this university. Today, she pointed out that this competition helps students from different cultures to get to know each other, as well as to improve together in the skills of the vis moot competition, and to go through this really stressful process by supporting each other.

Amina Hasanica is an assistant at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica and a coach of our senior moot team. She was part of the team that achieved this historic success in 2019 and was then declared the best speaker. Speaking about the importance of this competition for our students, Amina highlighted the fact that all the contestants who went through the preparation process for the vis moot competition are currently working in prestigious law offices throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that none of them plans to build a business career outside of our country.

In the introductory speeches, the competitors were greeted by Mr. Zdravko Marinković, president of the Foreign Trade Chamber, Prof. Ph.D. Aida Mulalić, vice dean for teaching at the Faculty of Law, University of Zenica, and Shamiriam Lazar from CLDP.
