HELD CONFERENCE ON THE APPLICATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ENERGY TRANSITION OF THE WESTERN BALKAN COUNTRIES.

The conference APPLICATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES IN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE ENERGY TRANSITION OF THE WESTERN BALKAN COUNTRIES was held today in Hotel Zenica, organized by the Center for Energy Efficiency of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica with partners as part of the implementation of the project "Digital transformation of SMEs in the processing industry ZDK".

Conference participants and panelists were representatives of the University of Zenica as well as directors of leading companies from the surrounding area: Hifa Oil Tešanj, Elektroprivreda BiH, Heidelberg Materials, FTM Novi Travnik, a representative of the FBiH Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mining, a representative of the Federal Ministry of Spatial Planning, then representatives of Mašinski faculty of the University of Sarajevo, UNDP BiH, Procredit Bank and n-Logic Advisory Sarajevo.

"Today, the University of Zenica is hosting a conference that deals with the issue of renewable energy sources and transition in general, within the framework of the implementation of a project funded by GIZ. The topic is certainly very interesting. We are already in transition and many things are happening that we are not even aware of: coal production is decreasing, we do not have fossil fuel and gas production, so in a way we are forced to think about resources for the use of renewable energy sources," said Prof. .Ph.D. Jusuf Durkaović, rector of the University of Zenica. Also, the Rector emphasized the importance of involving the academic community in these processes in order to establish better cooperation with the real sector, the economy and public institutions, and emphasized the importance of the university's participation in the further development of Bosnian society in this area.
