THE CEREMONY ACADEMY OF THE UNIVERSITY IN ZENICA WAS HELD

Last night, the University of Zenica's Formal Academy was held at the Bosnian National Theatre, where PhDs were promoted, the best students were awarded and the University of Zenica recognized. In addition to the management and employees of the University of Zenica, the ceremonial academy was attended by many dignitaries: rectors of public universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and Turkey, representatives of embassies and missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, representatives of the authorities of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Zenica-Doboj canton, the director of the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance, representatives of religious communities, representatives of businessmen and many other guests.

On October 18, 2000, the Assembly of the Zenica-Doboj Canton passed the decision to establish the University of Zenica, and for the past 23 years, the University of Zenica has been creating academic citizens of Zenica and other cities from the canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina who have crowned their knowledge with diplomas from the University of Zenica.

The guests were addressed by Prof. Dr.Sc. Jusuf Duraković, Rector of the University of Zenica, Prof. Ph.D. Radoslav Gajanin, rector of the University of Banja Luka in the capacity of president of the Rector's Conference/Rector's Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mrs. Draženka Subašić, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Zenica-Doboj Canton.

Prof. Ph.D.Sc. In his speech, Jusuf Duraković referred to the origin and development of higher education in Zenica, to the work and activities of the University of Zenica in the past years, but also to future plans for the improvement of scientific research work, curricula and monitoring trends in the labor market. In addition, the Rector said that the goal of the University of Zenica is to educate young people who will use their knowledge to build a career and stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Five doctors were promoted at the Ceremonial Academy in honor of Doctor of Science: Zlatan Ištvanić, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Faruk Hodžić, Doctor of Health Sciences, Borislav Jeličić, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Derviša Zukić, Doctor of Legal Sciences and Alen Mujkanović, Doctor of Legal Sciences.

Every year, the University of Zenica awards the Rector's Award to the best students for their success, participation and activities during their studies in the academic year 2022/2023. The rector's award was given to: Lea Kokorović, Pugonja Ragib, Muratović Merima, Kohnić Edin, Mehić Amila, Spahić Adnan and Polimac Zerina as the best students of the first cycle. The rector's award for students of the second cycle went to: Amar Ćatović and Mirza Imamović. Borislav Jeličić received the Rector's Award for students of the third cycle.

The awards of the University of Zenica are awarded to individuals and legal entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad for their merits and outstanding contribution to the development of the University, for the affirmation of the reputation, research, artistic, cultural, sports and other activities of the University, for many years of successful work at the University and in the University's bodies, as and a significant contribution to the development of higher education

Plaques of the University of Zenica were presented to Prof. Ph.D. Halid Kurtović and Prof. Ph.D. Edin Berberović, and certificates of appreciation from the University of Zenica were given to: Embassy of the Swiss Confederation, Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, Embassy of the Republic of Italy, Rijaset of the Islamic Community, OSCE Mission, National Center for State Courts, AS Holding, Hifa Oil doo and KUD "Mošćanica".
