The III Scientific and Professional Conference "Nursing Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" was held on November 13/14, 2017. years

On November 13 and 14, 2017. In 2008, the Health Care Study Program of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica organized the third scientific and professional conference ¨Nursing Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow¨. In these two days, the conference gathered more than 350 participants who had the opportunity to listen to 49 oral presentations of scientific and professional papers and 14 poster presentations by exhibitors from 7 different countries (Serbia, Croatia, Slovakia, Belgium, Albania, Turkey, Greece). The conference was opened by prof. Ph.D. sc. Damir Kukić, Rector of the University of Zenica, Assoc. Ph.D. sc. Harun Hodžić, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Zenica and Mr. Mensur Sinanović, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
On the first day of the Conference, the participants were addressed by Dr. Victor Olsavzsky, head of the office of the World Health Organization in Bosnia and Herzegovina, prim. Ph.D. Goran Čerkez, Assistant Federal Minister of Health, as well as Prof. Lubomira Lizakova from Slovakia and prof. Ilknur Aydin Avci from Turkey. The introductory lectures reflected the system of nursing development in our society, but also the expectations and guidelines of the WHO for the development and strengthening of nursing. After the introductory lectures, two sessions of oral presentations were held, which produced the conclusions of the conference, which will be presented and published as part of the publication of the III Scientific and Professional Conference ¨Nursing Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow¨.

The second day of the Conference was reserved for students. A workshop was held on the topic of ¨Implementation of basic life support measures and actions¨ as well as a student competition in theoretical knowledge and practical nursing skills. The competition is a novelty in the Conference program and aims to engage students in active participation. The competition is reflected in the premises of the modern Training Center of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica.

The conference was successfully completed with the following date, November 2019, when it is planned to hold the IV Scientific Professional Conference ¨Nursing Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow¨.
