Organized by the Agency for the Development of Higher Education and Quality Assurance (HEA) in Sarajevo on November 7, 2017. held a workshop entitled "Accreditation of study programs in Bosnia and Herzegovina". The main goal of the workshop was to present the criteria for the accreditation of study programs, as well as the model of accreditation and re-accreditation of higher education institutions and study programs.
The workshop participants were greeted by the Agency's deputy director, M.Sc. Irena Šiško, who pointed out that the accreditation of study programs is a big challenge both for the Agency and for higher education institutions and competent educational authorities because it is about new activities that will be perfected over the years. She reminded that last year the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted the Decision on the adoption of priorities for the development of higher education in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the period 2016-2026. years. Among other things, the said Decision stipulates the obligations of agencies in the field of higher education, competent educational authorities and higher education institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to establish preconditions for implementing an effective, transparent and accessible process of accreditation of study programs. The workshop in Sarajevo, as well as the previous one in Banja Luka, represent the beginning of the implementation of the stated priority for the development of higher education.
Speaking about the criteria for accreditation of study programs adopted by the Agency, she emphasized that the goal of today's event is to reach a common understanding of the content and meaning of criteria that will be operational and comparable. It is necessary, as much as possible, to eliminate the space for different interpretations, so that the self-evaluation reports are made in a unique way, and the commissions of experts, on the basis of that, can determine the actual situation at higher education institutions.
The event in Sarajevo gathered a large number of representatives of both public and private higher education institutions.
In front of the University of Zenica, the workshop was attended by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Quality Assurance, Prof. Dr.Sc. Malik Čabaravdić, and the University's quality manager, Assoc. Ph.D. Ibrahim Plančić, who by actively participating in the work of the workshop tried to get information about the best model of institutional reaccreditation and accreditation of study programs of the University of Zenica.
