PRESENTATION HELD ON EUROPEAN RESEARCH COUNCIL GRANTS

On Wednesday, January 15, 2025, a presentation entitled “Promotion of the European Research Council Funding Programme for the Scientific Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina” was held at the University of Zenica. Prof. Dr. Suzana Gotovac-Atlagić from the University of Banja Luka, in her capacity as National Contact Point (NCP) for the European Research Council (ERC), spoke about the opportunities and support for researchers in the process of applying for ERC grants. Through an interactive presentation, Prof. Gotovac-Atlagić presented in detail all aspects of the ERC grant application process to the participants, including the challenges that researchers face when writing project proposals. In addition to Prof. Dr. Gotovac-Atlagić, Prof. Dr. Dragana Šnjegota from the Faculty of Science, University of Banja Luka, from the Department of Zoology, Evolution and Genetics, was also present. After the presentation, a meeting was held in the Dean's Hall of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, where participants discussed opportunities for future cooperation in the field of scientific research, as well as the potential for joint participation in international projects.
European Research Council grants support outstanding researchers, both young scientists in the early stages of independent research projects and experienced researchers who intend to implement innovative and challenging scientific projects with their teams. These grants are awarded for projects that pursue creative and excellent research, regardless of the age or nationality of the researcher. ERC support is open to scientists from all over Europe, and more information about application opportunities can be found on the official ERC website.
