HELD SCI&TECH CHALLENGE 2025

On April 9, 2025, the third "Sci&Tech Challenge 2025" competition was held at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, University of Zenica. The goal of the competition is to popularize technical and natural sciences among high school students. 22 teams from 11 high schools in the Zenica-Doboj, Central Bosnia Cantons and Sarajevo Canton participated in the competition. The competition itself was preceded by a ceremonial event where the distinguished guests were addressed by the Rector of the University of Zenica, Prof. Dr. Sc. Jusuf Duraković and the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Prof. Dr. Sc. Farzet Bikić. The organization of this year's competition was supported by the Students' Union - the Association of Students of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences as part of the implementation of the project marking the Science Day of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the auspices of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science. The President of the Students' Union, Ms. Larisa Gadžun, addressed the gathering on behalf of the students. At the opening ceremony, certificates were also awarded to participants of workshops that students of the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences held together with their professors for students of the Technical High School in Zenica. The ceremonial part ended with a lecture by Professor Vedran Zubić on the topic "Development of Science as the Basis of Civilization and Economic Progress".

After the competition ended, the four best projects were announced, which are:

1st place– Turić Anel, Sofić Sajra, Amar Hodžić, Name of the project: ECOFY, Mixed secondary technical school Travnik, Mentor: Genjga Edina

2nd place – Huseinspahić Iman, Strika Nejra, Salkić Hanka, Eminović Lamija, Project name: FUEL CELL, First Gymnasium in Zenica, Mentor: Amina Aletić-Tarahija

3rd place – Bešlagić Zlatan, Fetić Kemala, Fetić Kerim, Kurić Faruk, Kurić Tarik, Project name: ROOM ACOUSTICS, First Gymnasium in Zenica, Mentor: Edina Grbešić

4th place – Čančar Sajra, Huseinspahić Amina, Serdarević Hana, Šaranović Amina, Tabaković Tajra, Project title: NATURAL BIOSENSOR FOR DETECTION OF PESTICIDES IN WATER, Second Gymnasium in Zenica, Mentor: Ilma Delić
