The team of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica is the winner of the YEP/IEEE Innovation Hackathon Sarajevo in 2016 with an innovation in the field of education - "PiProjector".

From December 1 to 4, 2016, the Conference "The 2016 BiH IEEE Student and Young Professional Congress" was held in Sarajevo under the title "TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE". The conference lasted 4 days, and the program was extremely comprehensive. It is, among other contents, enriched with introductory lectures by professors and experts from Australia, Canada, USA and Great Britain. Then, the program included professional and cultural visits to Jablanica-Konjic-Mostar. Important activities of students and young professionals took place through Workshops, where work teams had the opportunity to collaborate with eminent experts from the fields of science and business, with the aim of further elaboration of the ideas with which the teams came to the competition within the Congress. On December 3, 2016. the most exciting part of the Congress called the Innovation Hackathon was held.

 Students of the University of Zenica: Harun Hrustić, Armin Bošnjak, Kenan Beganović, Ajla Divoš, Anida Ibrahimagić, Lejla Međić, Nizama Perenda and Ramiz Mujčinović, offered a solution that the nine-member jury judged to be the best and most promising innovation in the competition of 13 teams from 7 electrical engineering, IT, mechanical and economic faculties from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina. The jury consisted of experts from Australia, Canada, USA, Great Britain and BiH.

 The winning team worked with the support of the mentor MSc. Denis Spahić, senior assistant and coordinator of the iDEALab center at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Zenica.

 PiProjector (abbreviated as PiPRO) is a device intended for classrooms that have a projector and do not have a laptop or computer to manage presentations. In addition, PiPRO has a camera projector that allows users of this device to transfer handwriting or drawings from paper to the canvas in real time. PiPRO is based on the Raspberry Pi microcomputer, and has a 7" touch screen, a Raspberry Pi camera, a WiFi keyboard with a touchpad, and an autonomous battery of 15600 mAh. The complete housing is made with 3D printing technology.
