As part of the activities of the regional project "Introduction of gender-aware policies in higher education/University and Gender Mainstreaming - UNIGEM" at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Zenica on June 22, 2023. In 2008, a workshop was held for the teaching staff of the Faculty of Philosophy and Medicine, on the topic "Gender Equality", where, through interaction and extremely interesting tasks, the teaching staff discussed the difference between sex and gender, gender roles, whether and why it is important to use gender-sensitive language, how gender stereotypes affect social relations, and discussed the modalities of promoting gender equality and combating gender-based discrimination.
The teachers and associates acquired additional knowledge at the interactive workshop and concluded that it is necessary to organize more such workshops and work continuously with different target and age groups, in order to raise awareness of gender (in)equality and contribute to greater equality in society.
"Gender Equality" is the first of three planned workshops organized by the Center for Gender Equality of the University of Zenica on the topic of gender equality in the month of June.
The workshop was arranged and held by Prof. Ph.D. Alica Arnaut, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zenica and Sumeja Bajtarević, B.Sc., Business Secretary of the Faculty of Law, University of Zenica.
