08.06.2017. CIP AND MF UNZE: ROUND TABLE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE NETWORKS IN WOOD PROCESSING

The program for local self-government and economic development in Bosnia and Herzegovina was held on June 8, 2017. in the hotel Zenica Round table on the topic "Innovative networks in the wood processing industry". The round table was attended by more than 30 representatives of the academic sector from the universities of Zenica and Sarajevo, representatives of relevant ministries, the city of Zenica, students doing their final theses in this sector, and representatives of the business sector. The round table was organized by GIZ Germany - BiH Office in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the University of Zenica.

She gave welcoming words to the participants Karin Hoerhan, program manager, EU ProLocal, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Karl Heinz Jach, project coordinator and ProLocal expert who moderated the round table.

Frank Wältring, the EU ProLocal expert presented the Triple Helix partnership - International good practices and advantages in cooperation between science and entrepreneurship in different contexts: Presentation of partners, expectations from cooperation between science and entrepreneurship, International good practices, knowledge transfer and Roles and responsibilities of partners involved in Triple-Helix partnerships.

Prof. Darko Petković, MF and CIP UNZE, presented the concept of the Triple Helix initiative in the wood processing sector with an emphasis on the importance of the concept of dual education and lifelong learning. Prof. Salih Teskeredžić, from the Academy of Fine Arts UNSA, spoke about the importance of production design in the woodworking industry and Christian Kaupert, EU ProLocal expert on networked production - wood processors on their way to industry 4.0 and the CTC (Close to Customer) Project.

The presentations were followed by a discussion on the proposed initiatives and the identification of innovative projects in the wood sector. Frank Waltring moderated the definition of the conclusions of the round table, which can be briefly reduced to the fact that it is necessary to achieve a significantly better connection between the academic sector, politics and business systems with the aim of strengthening the Triple Helix model, in which each of the partners should work conscientiously, innovatively and responsibly in the domain of its scope of work. The round table was followed by numerous media representatives who adequately presented and popularized this event.
