14/12/2018 MF AND CIP UNZE: STUDY VISIT TO THE UNIVERSITY OF URBIN
On the third day of the visit to Italy for the MF and PtF students, a visit to the WIRUTEX diamond tool factory was arranged. In a very interesting business system that is part of the BIESSE group, students had the opportunity to see how the most geometrically complex and expensive tools for processing light metals and wood are made. After this visit, we set off to the old medieval city of URBINO, which is mostly under the protection of UNESCO as part of the world cultural heritage, with the aim of visiting its renowned university, which is one of the oldest in Europe, founded in 1506. In the Rector's building of the University of Urbino (www.uniurb.it) first a presentation of this university was held (Dr. Fabrizio Maci - director of international relations UNIURB) where UNZE representatives had the opportunity to hear that the University of Urbino has 15,000 students, that it is a public university and that, in addition to its official name, it has the addition of the University of Carlo Bo Urbino according to the rector prof. To Carl Boo, who was rector for 53 years. It is interesting that, according to the Times Ranking list, Uni Urbino is 5th among Italian universities in terms of the number of SCI papers and RDI projects. The introductory presentation of UNI Urbino was followed by a lecture by vice-rector Prof. Dr. Fabio Musso on the topic "Development of the third mission of the university", and then Prof. Dr. Giorgio Calcagnini, Deputy Rector. After an interesting discussion and questions from the students, representatives of UNZE, CIP director prof. Petković and Dean Hadžikadunić presented UNZE, cooperation with companies from the Marche Region in Italy, and expressed interest in the further development of cooperation between the two universities both in the field of staff and student mobility and in order to further strengthen the university's third mission.
