A working meeting was held with representatives of the UNESCO office in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the statistical institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina
For the purpose of implementing the project "Improving education statistics" and revising statistical forms in the field of higher education, which is being carried out by the statistical institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina within their competences with the technical support of the UNESCO office in Bosnia and Herzegovina: the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina and entity statistical institutes, a meeting was held with representatives of the University of Zenica and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton. The meeting was also attended by prof. Ph.D. Damir Kukić, rector of the University of Zenica, and his goal was to improve the quality, availability and timeliness of data in the field of higher education in relation to domestic and international needs.
In the first part of the meeting, representatives of the UNESCO office in Sarajevo met with Rector Kukić and members of the Department of General Cultural Studies of the University of Zenica.
"Today we discussed the cooperation of the University of Zenica, especially the Department of Cultural Studies, with UNESCO so that they could jointly promote the entire cultural sector, as well as the contribution of culture to the sustainable development of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We talked about cultural policies, the importance of cultural strategy, as well as certain things that could be realized in the next period," said Mr. Siniša Šešum.
In the second part of the meeting, the presentation "Overview of the current situation in higher education statistics in BiH: goals, activities, expected results" was held, after which an extremely interesting discussion was held on the topic of review and analysis of statistical patterns for higher education, methodological dilemmas and problems in filling out statistical forms.
