19.05.2016. PRACTICAL LESSONS IN REAL KOMERC VITEZ AND TURBE FOUNDRY
In order to connect the theoretical part of the teaching with practice as widely as possible, the students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Polytechnic UNZE on subjects in the field of production systems and technologies had a full day of practical teaching in the plants of business systems REAL Komerc Vitez and Turbe Foundry.
As part of a visit to the production part of REAL Komerc, the friendly hosts and owners of the Šafradin family had the opportunity to see that even with old machines and well-known conventional technologies, with good managerial visions, it is possible to work successfully in BIH as well. Metal processing with different technologies of plastic processing, cutting and welding with a good marketing concept and in addition to the numerous mentioned limits have enabled this company to position itself well in the market of BiH and the region in its short time of existence.
In the Turbe Foundry from the director M.Sc. Šehzudin Dervišić and his team of associates have heard a lot about the transformation process of this foundry after the purchase from the factory Pobjeda Tešanj and the efforts to adopt the production of castings for the automotive industry, which was successfully realized in a very short period of time. Students had the opportunity to see all departments of the foundry as well as different technologies used in the complex process of product development by casting processes (model room, core room, sand preparation, mold preparation, molding, shaking, casting, casting processing, product testing, etc.).
Representatives of MF and CIP UNZE presented Tempus projects IDEA-lab and RESI to their hospitable hosts. There was talk about the possibilities of developing prototypes with 3D printing technology, MKE simulations of the casting process, as well as the ecological aspects of the operation of the renovated foundry. The work of the new student entrepreneurial IDEA-laboratory at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was presented, as well as the beginning of the implementation of the Master's program in renewable energy sources and ecology. Future modalities of business cooperation and the implementation of student internships during the summer months were also discussed, and professors Petković and Plančić, who were with the students during the visit, nominated several topics for the students' graduate theses.
