University and gender mainstreaming project (UNIGEM) and the University of Zenica - Committed to gender equality
Today 16.05.2022. in the Cabinet of the Rector of the University of Zenica, the Rector of the University of Zenica Prof. Dr. Jusuf Duraković and the chairman of the Senate of the University of Zenica, Prof. Dr. Larisa Velić met with representatives of the Transcultural Psychosocial Educational Foundation (TPO), Prof. Dr. Zilko Stanić and Mrs. Lamija Subašić.
The meeting discussed the signed Memorandum on Cooperation and Implementation of the Project, which is fully financed by the Government of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, and includes the Transcultural Psychosocial Education Foundation (TPO) and 17 universities from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia and of Montenegro with the aim of preventing and combating gender-based violence, discrimination and sexual harassment and ensuring integrity and quality in higher education.
The University and gender mainstreaming (UNIGEM) project represents the commitment of universities to ensure gender equality for teachers and students at universities both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the region by introducing a gender perspective.
The realization of the project goals will take four years, and it also foresees research on the state of gender equality in universities before and after the implementation of this project.
