In the last four years, the University of Vigo has been cooperating with several universities in the Balkans (among them UNZE) through European mobility and capacity building projects. This was the incentive to organize an international week of intensive training with the aim of achieving greater impact, visibility and international cooperation with the countries of the Western Balkans within the European program Erasmus+ KA107 through which the mobility of students and teachers is financed.

The University of Vigo is one of the most important public universities in the Spanish province of Galicia, and currently has around 21,000 students spread over three campuses.

The work of the International Academy itself is organized in seven thematic panels, where current international projects in which the University of Vigo participates are presented. This was an opportunity to share ideas and examples of good practice between the participants, and to make new contacts on the basis of which new project applications will be created. All participants were greeted by the vice-rector for international cooperation of the University of Vigo, prof. Jesus Simal.
