A public lecture was held on the topic "Optical measuring systems for measuring shapes, displacements and deformations"

On 27.11.2018 year at 16:00 in the reading room of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica, a public lecture was held on the subject of OPTICAL MEASURING SYSTEMS FOR MEASURING SHAPES, DISPLACEMENTS AND DEFORMATIONS. The lecture was given by Mr. Ph.D. Nenad Drvar from the company TOPOMATIKA three-dimensional scanning, optical measuring systems and computer processing doo Zagreb and Mr. Luka Naglić, B.Sc. Eng. from the company IZIT doo Zagreb. The lecture was organized in cooperation with the Polytechnic and Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the University of Zenica and the companies TOPOMATIKA doo Zagreb and IZIT doo Zagreb.

The lecture was conceived on the optical equipment for 3D measurement of displacements and deformations of the German manufacturer GOM GmbH, with a special emphasis on measurement principles and interesting applications in mechanical engineering. The lecture was particularly interesting for students of the first and second cycle of studies, especially the postgraduate study "Metrology", representatives of economic entities, and academic staff dealing with metrology, quality control, production, reverse engineering, 3D printing, vibration analysis, experimental mechanics, etc.

The lecture was conducted in two parts: shape measurement, and displacement and deformation measurement, and the second part was about practical applications of 3D printing technologies.

During the lectures, presentations of modern equipment were given, principles of measurement were explained, areas of application were shown, examples from practice were presented, and real demonstrations and interesting video examples were performed. Lecture participants had the opportunity to see the real application of equipment for 3D shape measurement, 3D displacement and deformation measurement (on the surface of the object) as well as optical 3D positioning: ATOS Core, TRITOP, ARAMIS, ARGUS. Also, the advantages of using 3D printing technologies at a higher level in the fields of engineering, production technologies, medicine, dentistry, etc. were pointed out.

Also, as part of a study visit to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica, with the aim of further cooperation and demonstration of laboratory potential and equipment, the lecture was attended by professors from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of "Džemal Bijedić" Mostar: v. prof. Dr. Safet Isić – dean, v. prof. Dr. Daut Denjo, assistant professor Dr. Edin Šunje, as well as students of the second cycle of studies. Before the actual lecture, a visit was made to the laboratories with a presentation of the field of operation and application of the equipment in the field of education, research and cooperation with the economy.

We would like to thank our colleagues from the companies TOPOMATIKA doo Zagreb and IZIT doo Zagreb for very interesting and practical lectures, as well as the transfer of knowledge and experience.

Also, we would like to thank the professors and students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University "Džemal Bijedić" Mostar for the visit and the development of further cooperation.
