Prof. Dr. Škuljević Željko passed away
With sad hearts, we inform you that prof. Ph.D. sc. Željko Škuljević died on Monday, February 4, 2019 after a serious illness. at the age of 66.
Prof. Ph.D. sc. Željko Škuljević was born on August 28, 1953 in Zenica. He graduated in sociology at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, and received a master's degree in philosophy of science in Zagreb, and received a doctorate in pure philosophy in Sarajevo 1991. thesis devoted to philosophy Branislav Petronijević. He was a full professor at the Department of Philosophy and Sociology at the University of Zenica, and in the period from 2005 to 2007 he held the position of vice-rector for teaching and student affairs at the University of Zenica.
He published seven literary works, two books of essays and thirteen books in the field of philosophy, a large number of texts and studies in the field of the history of philosophy, various philosophical disciplines and domestic philosophical heritage, as well as the philosophy of literature and "poetosophy" in many magazines in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia.
In addition, he was also a member of the Society of Writers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Association of Independent Intellectuals Krug 99 and the Croatian Philosophical Society. He is the founder and editor of the "Hijatus" foundation, co-founder of the Association for Philosophy and Social-Humanistic Research Eidos, then one of the founders of the Pedagogical Academy in Zenica, which later grew into the Faculty of Pedagogy, i.e. the Faculty of Philosophy. He is the winner of the City of Zenica Award.
The commemorative meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019, starting at 1:00 p.m. in Hall No. 10 at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology in Zenica.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at the city cemetery of Prašnica, and transportation will be provided in front of the Rectorate of the University of Zenica (Faculty number 3) at 2:30 p.m.
