A CEREMONIAL RECEPTION WAS HELD FOR TWENTY NEWLY EMPLOYED ASSISTANTS
A formal reception for twenty newly employed young assistants was held today at the Rectorate of the University of Zenica. The reception was organized by the Rector Prof. Dr.Sc. Jusuf Duraković with the presence of the deans of the faculties where the assistants are employed.
"Today is a special day for the University of Zenica. On this occasion, I would like to thank the ZDK Government, both previous and current, which recognized the importance of rejuvenating the University of Zenica, but we also want to send a message to young people that their future can be here, to develop academically, build their families and stay in our canton and our country," said Prof. Dr.Sc. Jusuf Duraković, rector of the University of Zenica.
"We announced a competition for 27 assistants, but unfortunately we did not fill all those positions because there was no interest, that is, there were no candidates who met the conditions to work at the University of Zenica. There is a good will on the part of the current ZDK Government to continue filling the teaching staff, as well as non-teaching staff in terms of filling the Center for the Environment, filling staff for international cooperation and some other services, such as the IT Service. So, probably, in the foreseeable future, we will receive new employees at the University." - announced Prof. Ph.D. Jusuf Durakovic.
What is particularly important to point out is that the competition condition was that all assistants were registered with the ZDK Employment Bureau, and we also preferred candidates who graduated from the faculties of the University of Zenica.
"I studied at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zenica, so with that institution and the University of Zenica in general, I have a wonderful experience as a student, and only then as an assistant. I believe that this was an opportunity to affirm every assistant who worked and was successful during his studies and later. It's a big thing to give young people the opportunity to stay in their city, their country - to stay connected, in a certain way, to the university from which they started." - said assistant in language courses at the Department of Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian Language and Literature of the Faculty of Philosophy, Larisa Mahmić-Kobilica, for whom this is her first permanent job. Larisa Mahmić Kobilica is the winner of the Rector's Award for the best achieved success during postgraduate studies.
The Rector thanked the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports as well as the Government of ZDK for, as he pointed out, "recognizing the need for greater investments in the development of the University, in such a way that they accepted the budget request" and increased the University's budget by about 3,000,000 KM.
