THE FACULTY OF LAW OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ZENICA IS THE HOST OF TRAINING AND THE INTERNATIONAL PRE-MOOT COMPETITION IN COMMERCIAL ARBITRATION

Today, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica, students began preparing for the upcoming international commercial arbitration competition Vis Moot, which is traditionally held in Vienna. At the training, which will be held from 15.-17. In March, teams from Germany, Kosovo, Saudi Arabia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina are participating at the Faculty of Law. This preparatory training is realized in cooperation with long-term partners CLDP (Commercial Law Development Program), and the Arbitri association, as well as with the help of GIZ, the Embassy of the United States of America in BiH and the American Chamber of Commerce of BiH. The activities taking place this week at the Faculty of Law are the result of quality work at the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica, as well as the commitment to such events aimed at developing the skills needed by future lawyers. The results of that work were shown by the competitors of the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica in 2019, when they won 3rd place in the world competition, in which more than 380 teams participated.

Prof. Dr.Sc. addressed the competitors today and wished them a successful work. Larisa Velić, dean of the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica, Mr. Ryan Miller from the Embassy of the United States of America and Ms. Shamiram Lazar from CLDP.

On March 18, 2022, an international conference on International Arbitration and Sustainable Development will be held at Hotel Evropa in Sarajevo. Experts in the field of arbitration and sustainable development from the United States of America and Europe will contribute to the conference, which is dedicated to one of the most current topics at the moment.

After the conference, on March 19 and 20, 2022, the preparatory competition Zenica Vis Pre-Moot 2022, which has been traditionally organized for the past few years in Zenica, will be held in the premises of the Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica, in which all the participating teams will participate. in training, and teams from Skopje and Podgorica will join them.

The Faculty of Law of the University of Zenica, in cooperation with the aforementioned partners, also hosted teams from all over the world last year, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, training and preparatory competitions were held online. This year, all events will be organized live, and Zenica Vis Pre-Moot 2022 will be the largest preparatory competition in Zenica that was held live.
