Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Zenica hosts the 8th international scientific and professional conference 'Maintenance 2024'
A two-day scientific and professional conference with international participation, "Maintenance", organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Zenica, together with partner institutions and faculties from Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, began today at the Zenica Hotel. The first "Maintenance" conference was held in 2010.
"All previous conferences have had their own specificities in some way, but this one has a special significance because this is a direct connection with the economy, and maintenance in industrial plants is in the plants. Our engineers are key factors for these industries," said Prof. Jusuf Duraković, Rector of the University of Zenica, and emphasized that such conferences are an opportunity to connect with their former students and jointly contribute to the betterment of society.
The President of the Organizing Committee of this conference, Prof. Ph.D. Fuad Hadžikadunić, pointed out that this year's conference is being held again in BiH, and that their partners are the Ministry of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, the Faculty of Maritime Studies of the University of Montenegro in Kotor, the Faculty of Engineering of Harran of the University of Şanlıurfa in Turkey, the Faculty of Technical Sciences of the University of Novi Sad, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Slavonski Brod.
"Our goal is to connect the academic community, the public and private sectors. This year we have participants from six countries, with 55 submitted and 49 peer-reviewed papers. In this context, it is especially important for us that 12 companies supported the organization of the conference," said Prof. Dr. SC Fuad Hadžikadunić, emphasizing that the goal is to translate the acquired knowledge and experience into practical application.
The conference will be organized through introductory lectures, followed by sponsor sessions, during which business entities will present themselves, as well as five sections.
The Minister of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, Samir Šibonjić, emphasized that they have good cooperation with the University of Zenica, and that "without strong education, institutional approach and the search for modern solutions, there is no strong economy." "In order to develop these industries, maintenance is a very important segment. We provide maximum support to our businessmen for the purchase of new machines," said the Minister.
