Kick-off meeting held on the ERASMUS+ project RDBiH

The University of Sarajevo hosted the kick-off meetings of the ERASMUS+ CBHE project on February 12th and 13th. "Development of Research & Development Strategies and Centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina" (RDBIH), whose goal is to increase research and development (R&D) capacity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In front University of Zenica, which is one of the partners in the project, the meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Fuad Hadžikadunić, Vice-Rector for Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Hasan Avdušinović, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Quality Assurance, Prof. Dr. Malik Čabaravdić and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mirza Oruč.

The coordinator of the RDBiH project is University of Novi Sad, and its implementation began on November 1 last year, with an expected duration of 48 months. The project gathers 15 partners, including leading universities in BiH, international partners and relevant ministries: University of Zenica, University of Tuzla, University of East Sarajevo, University of Banja Luka, University of Sarajevo, University of Mostar, Technische Hochschule Ulm (Germany), University of Macedonia (Greece), Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Ministry of Science, Education, Culture and Sports of Herzeg-Bosnia Canton, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of West Herzegovina Canton, Ministry of Education and Science of Tuzla Canton, Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Sarajevo Canton, Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Zenica-Doboj Canton, as well as the BIT Alliance of BiH.

The specific objectives of the RDBIH project include the development of research and development strategies by entities/cantons in BiH, the establishment of R&D centers at universities in BiH, and the development of a network of R&D centers across BiH.

This project is expected to bring a significant contribution to the academic and scientific community in BiH, opening new opportunities for research, innovation and cooperation at the national and international levels.
