Lectures by Prof. Ph.D. Zdenke Zovko - Boatman at the Faculty of Metallurgy - Technology

As part of the academic exchange of the ERASMUS+ program, in the period from 15.04 to 19.04. In 2019, the dean of the Faculty of Metallurgy in Sisak, Prof. Ph.D., stayed at the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology. Zdenka Zovko-Brodarac. Professor Zovko Brodarac, in addition to discussions on the expansion of cooperation in the field of joint research and application to European programs, held appropriate lectures for students and employees of the Faculty of Metallurgy and Technology. Also, an important segment of the conversation is dedicated to exchange opportunities for students and academic staff.

In the first lecture for students, Professor Zovko-Brodarac spoke about contemporary methods of casting metals and alloys with a special emphasis on the process of casting metals in a semi-solid state. The topic of the second lecture was the role of metallography in the characterization of metal materials.

As part of the lecture for the employees of the dean's office, Zovko-Brodarac briefly presented her faculty with the current projects that are being carried out and future directions of development with an emphasis on the establishment of a center of excellence in the field of casting - SIMET, which is fully financed from the funds of the European Union.

During her stay at our University, the dean took the opportunity to visit some of the companies from the metal sector in Zenica and the surrounding area. There were visits to ArcelorMittal and foundries in Turbet and Jajce. During the conversation with the management of the mentioned companies, they talked about the possibilities of joint cooperation and the possibility of visiting the students of the Faculty of Metallurgy in Sisak and getting to know the production processes in the mentioned companies.
