THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN ROBOTICS HAS BEEN STARTED
For the third time, the University of Zenica is the co-organizer of the WRO State Robotics Championship, which started today in the "Husejin Smajlović" City Arena. 24 teams in different age categories participate in the competition, and the winners will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the World Olympics, which will be held in Panama this year.
"In cooperation with the Edutus University from Hungary, with the support of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Government and the City of Zenica, we traditionally organize a robotics competition in Zenica. Compared to last year, when we had 18 teams, this year we have 24, which clearly indicates a justified interest in paying much more attention to this event. We want to tell young people that they should study a scientific field that is the future for the whole world, and that is robotics. We at the University of Zenica should create assumptions that children can study the study program in robotics," said Prof. Ph.D. Jusuf Durakovic.
This competition is certainly an indicator that in our city and canton there is interest and justification for attractive study programs, and in the near future it would be necessary to ensure the start of an electrical engineering study program.
Support for this competition from the very beginning was provided by the Government of Zenica-Doboj Canton headed by Prime Minister Mrs. Amra Mehmedić, who addressed the audience today.
"Let this event be an inspiration for all of us to support young people in their dreams and ambitions. May it serve as a reminder that innovation and technology are key factors shaping our future. As a community, we must support young talents, provide them with resources and opportunities to develop their skills. The government of Zenica-Doboj Canton will continue to invest in education, especially in the field of robotics and technology," said Prime Minister Amra Mehmedić.
The attendees were greeted with opening remarks by Prof. Ph.D.Sc. Malik Čabaravdić, MSc. Kenan Varda, Mr. Namir Škaljo, director of BH Telekom Zenica and Peter Tamas Szilasi, representative of Editus University.
The competition is organized by the EDUTUS University, the University of Zenica, the City of Zenica, the Development Agency Zeda and the Association Education for the New Age - STEAM Education with the support of sponsors.
The winner will be announced in the late afternoon, when we will know which teams will represent our country in Panama.
