Participation in the "Polyflip" conference in Slovenia

The teachers of the Polytechnic Faculty, V.Prof.Dr. Edin Berberović and Prof. Dr. Samir Lemeš participated in the international conference "Future focused blended learning in science and engineering" organized by the Faculty of Polymer Technology Slovenj Gradec from Slovenia as part of the Erasmus+ project Polyflip (https://www.ftpo.eu/).

Erasmus+ KA2 project "PolyFlip - Development of a flipped approach to the classroom for (polymer) engineering study programs using innovative ICT tools" (https://www.polyflip.eu/) aims to upgrade examples of good practice in other disciplines and cycles of education with the results of research on the topic, and to adapt and implement the pedagogical approach "Flipped classroom approach" for students of engineering study programs such as polymer technology.

Participation in the conference was also an opportunity to discuss future cooperation between the University of Zenica and the Faculty of Polymer Technology. The faculty was founded 10 years ago as a private non-profit higher education institution by several Slovenian companies engaged in the production of plastics, the development center of the Slovenian tool industry TECOS Celje and the municipality of Slovenj Gradec. The faculty trains personnel for over 1,700 production companies in Slovenia, implements numerous research and development projects, and has an enviable amount of research equipment and laboratories that deal with the development of polymer materials, technologies and products.

Cooperation with this faculty could represent another development chance for Zenica and Bosnia and Herzegovina, because there is a great potential to train personnel who are lacking in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to reach products with greater added value through joint research work, and so stronger economy in Zenica, ZDK and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
