15.01.2019. CIP, MF and PTF UNZE: PRACTICAL LESSONS AND BUSINESS DAY FOR STUDENTS IN VISOK AND ILIJAS

The third big business day for the implementation of practical classes in the winter semester of the academic year 2018/19. year for students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Polytechnic, was Tuesday 15.01.2019. when, as part of classes at the Department of Industrial Engineering and CIM Systems and the Department of Maintenance, they visited 3 business systems in Visoko and Ilijaš. The first location for practical training was the SECOM production system in Visoko, where students had the opportunity to see the finalization of production in the new facilities at the former location of the Kovina factory. In a modern environment and on modern machines, the SECOM company today produces solid wood products for discerning European markets with a very modern design and enviable finishing qualities.

After 3 hours spent in this company, the continuation of practical classes followed in the new Ilijaš Foundry, a member of the PREVENT group. With the extremely good guidance of the engineering staff from the factory, the students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the method of making molds and cores, see the preparation of materials for filling the furnace, as well as the control of the chemical composition of casting materials (gray cast iron, nodular cast iron, etc.), the molding process and mold shaking, final finishing and painting. It was discussed how to maintain machines and plants (approx. 35% employees work in the maintenance department), the levels of automation and productivity of individual departments of the factory, the marketing approach in the development of new products, improvements in processes, etc.

In the continuation of the working day, there was a visit to the STANDARD wood processing system in Ilijaš, which is one of the largest business systems of its kind in BIH with more than 800 employees. Respectable production program of the factory that exports almost 100% of its production to Germany and other EU countries (chairs, armchairs, dressers, tables, sofas, upholstered program, etc.), with modern design solutions that are "tested" every year at eminent European fairs, working in two and on some lines even in three shifts, etc. are just some of the features seen in this business system. The students expressed an enviable interest both in the solutions of the production processes and in the technological procedures themselves, of which the finishing procedures on the CEFLA line and the well-known BIESSE CNC machines for the production of various positions were particularly interesting.
